We sponsored both the Street Class at Norwalk for 2022 AND the inaugural Tin Indian Performance Wheelie Contest!  The Tin Indian Performance Wheelie Contest was very well received and turned out to be quite a show!

Tracey Greyshaw really let them really hang out there and wowed the crowd with an amazing performance!  Tracey’s efforts netted him a 6′ Trophy and $200.  A great start to what we hope to be an annual contest.  Please be sure to checkout our videos of the contest as well as the slow motion video of Tracey’s winning performance.

The Street Class was packed again with a ton of race cars as usual.  We would like to congratulate the winners and Runner ups for 2022!

We will have a new announcement regarding the Street Class coming soon regarding prizes and awards for 2023!

Press release for the 2022 Event

The 31st Annual Ames Performance Tri Power Pontiac NationalsThe 31st running of the Ames Performance Pontiac Nationals very nearly surpassed last year’s record-breaking event.  The strong support for the event is a testament to the loyalty and passion of Pontiac fans across the country!  In a year when many events struggled to attract participants, Pontiac people proved they were not going to let outside influences effect their opportunity to gather and socialize with old friends and new acquaintances.
Last year we added 25 spaces to the swap meet and sold out early on Friday morning; this year the swap meet sold out in early June, the first time in the history of the event we were sold-out before the event even began!  We are looking to add more space for 2023.  There were 209 vendors this year, representing 32 states, and we had 50 vehicles for sale in the car corral, up 6 from the previous year.
The event was just 7 cars short of last year’s record, there were 1,065 cars on display during the weekend.  We made a couple of significant changes this year, the first was to end judging on Saturday, so we could hold the awards ceremony at 10am on Sunday.  We also moved the car show registration tent and made some changes to the show field to gain more parking space.
We are pleased to continue our show within a show program.  The Firehawk Club held their 28th Firehawk Rally in conjunction with our event.  The Little Indians Chapter, the Overhead Cammers, the Early Times Chapter and the 2 + 2 chapter, all of which are specialty chapters of the Pontiac Oakland Club International, held gatherings again this year.  We really appreciate their participation and are glad to provide them a place to get together and show us their cars.
The race program saw a new feature this year with the addition of the Tin Indian Performance Wheelie contest, it was fun to watch, and we look forward to seeing more participants in the future.  There were 433 entries this year running the Norwalk quarter mile and pit space was at a premium, we are looking into marking all the pit spaces next year to maximize efficiency and provide parking help to get the race rigs landed.
There were 10,374 spectators through the gate to see all the event has to offer and enjoy celebrating all things Pontiac with us.
We want to thank everyone in the Pontiac community for making the Ames Performance Pontiac Nationals the most significant event of the year.  The dates for 2023 will be the 21st to 23rd of July.    You don’t want to miss it!
